Ochani Lele – Author
(Book Vendor, Workshop/Discussion Host)

I am an olorisha (santero) initiated into the mysteries of Obatala on May 10, 2003. My Obatala is female, Obanla, and since my crown is a female orisha I also have a father in ocha, Eleggua. I live in Winter Park, Florida, where I have lived with only a 6 month interruption since 1989.

In such a transient state, Florida, how is that for stability? I’ve been in the same apartment since 1997!

I am an author who writes about the Lucumi faith under the pen-name Ochani Lele, hence the name of this journal. The titles of my books are:

  • The Secrets of Afro-Cuban Divination;
  • Obi: Oracle of Cuban Santeria (also available in Spanish translation);
  • The Diloggun.

Currently, I am working on a 16-volume set of books about the odu of the Diloggun. I’ve been writing them since 2003; the rough drafts of all 16 are complete, and I am polishing volume one, tentatively titled “The Sacred Stories of Cuban Santeria.” The first volume should be available by the end of 2009.

Feel free to write to me at BStuartMyers@gmail.com or EguinLade@aol.com.

For information about Ochani Lele’s book, Teachings of the Santeria Gods: The Spirit of the Odu, check out his Vendor Spotlight, and make sure to check out his website (link in the sidebar).

Michelle
(Fine Art and Jewelry Vendor)

Residing in Daytona Beach, I have been active in the region’s art societies, museum programs, and fine art shows.
As a mixed media artist, I work with various mediums such as collage, acrylics, oil pastels, watercolor, ink, and beeswax. I use experimental techniques and avant garde styles often. My latest work is ink on aluminum. I have included several glass pieces into my new work to add a three dimensional effect.

In addition to my artwork, I make contemporary fused glass and found object jewelry, Each piece I create is a wearable work of art.
